The aim behind the call for funding applications is to reduce of the use of critical raw materials such as iridium and ruthenium utilised in the manufacture of electrodes in electrolysis stacks. This would make it possible to lower costs and reduce the impact on the environment caused by the extraction of these raw materials. Ultimately, both the efficiency and functionality of the electrolysis stack is to be demonstrted and evaluated using a prototype.
By taking part in the Horizon 2020 initiative, PRÜFREX has the opportunity to contribute to a low-carbon future. PRÜFREX is currently involved in the “demonstrator set up“ element along with three other partners from other European countries. The work package includes the construction of an electrolysis demonstrator, along with its functionality.
We are proud to have the opportunity to participate in this exciting project and are very much looking forward to working together with our research and innovation partners.
